Annual garage sale benefits Clifford Community Meals on Wheels program

Not sure what to do with your unwanted items?

Sheila and Frank Dickinson have an alternative plan – donate some of those unwanted treasures to the Clifford Community Meals on Wheels Annual Garage Sale.

For the past three years, Vic and Trish Palmer have spearheaded the event that included the cooperative efforts of volunteers from Meals on Wheels, Rotary Club, Horticultural Society and Trails Committee.

This year, Sheila and Frank who have recently moved to Clifford have offered to organize the event with help from their neighbours Eleanore and Wes Gerber.

They believe, “This sale is not only a way to raise money for the future needs of the organization, but it is a tradition that is embraced by our community.”

The one-day sale will be held from 7am to 7pm on June 3 at the John Hobelman Memorial Rotary Pavillion Park at Allan Street East, rain or shine.

Donations of dishes, toys, Sports equipment, books, knick knacks, gift ware, table ware, crafts, novelty items, pictures, frames and seasonal items will be accepted at the pavilion from 7am to 8pm on June 2. This will give volunteers time to sort.

For more information on donations or to volunteer, call 519-327-3719.

This year, you will have the chance to support two other groups. Clifford Rotarians will be running their food booth and members of the Knox United Church will be holding a bake sale. All the profits of the yard sale will go to Clifford Community Meals on Wheels.
