Ann Caine to speak at Lions supper

Ann Caine will be the guest speaker at the Rockwood District Lions Club annual community supper night on Feb. 17 at 6:30pm at Rockmosa Community Centre in downtown Rockwood.

Caine is the founder the internationally renowned Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre in Puslinch. For almost 35 years the centre has been helping children and adults with special needs develop their full potential through programs of therapy, recreation, horse riding, life skills and farm related activity.

Caine’s leadership has been recognized through many awards, most recently as recipient of the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award presented to her in November 2015.

Sunrise volunteer Vanessa Blurton-Jones, a former rider, will provide a personal close-up on the riding and volunteering experience at the centre.
