MOUNT FOREST – The Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington’s annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is set for May 24.
This family-friendly event will be held at four locations across the region – Mount Forest, Guelph, Cambridge and Kitchener.
The walk is an opportunity for community members to come together and show support for the over 41,000 people living with or caring for a person with dementia in Wellington County and Waterloo Region.
All funds raised during the event will stay local, directly benefiting individuals living with dementia and their families by providing essential free support services, education, and resources.
Participants can choose to walk as individuals or create teams to walk with friends and family.
The event is open to all ages and abilities, with a family and pet-friendly two to 2.5 kilometre route that will take walkers through parks and local neighbourhoods, offering a fun and engaging way to raise awareness.
“We’re thrilled to offer this event at four locations this year, with a brand-new walk location in Cambridge,” said Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington CEO Michelle Martin.
“This is an opportunity for our community to come together, not just to walk, but to show those living with dementia and their care partners that they are not walking alone in this journey.”
“Join us on May 24 to help raise awareness and make a real difference for people living with dementia in Waterloo Wellington,” officials invite.
“Together, we can walk towards a future where no one affected by dementia walks alone,” they state.
