GUELPH – A beloved holiday soundtrack returns to River Run’s Main Stage for what has become a holiday tradition. Join jazz trio Adam Bowman, Duncan Wilson, and Tyler Wagler with The Kingsbury Music Singers children’s choir for a performance of music from A Charlie Brown Christmas on Dec. 21.
The trio is led by Adam Bowman. A percussionist and instructor, Bowman has toured widely and played with artists across genres. He has three Juno Award nominations, has written for Canadian Musician Magazine, and played with Juno winners Kellylee Evans and Carlos Morgan, among several other artists.
Tyler Wagler joins the trio on bass. A Guelph-based musician and educator, Wagler is the musical director of the Guelph Youth Jazz Ensemble. He is also a founding member of the roots-reggae band The Human Rights who released a new album this year.
Duncan Wilson rounds out this jazz trio on the piano. In his early 20s, Wilson has already made a name for himself as an exciting jazz pianist to watch, say officials, having played venues such as Toronto’s The Rex and Jazz Bistro.
For this performance, the trio is joined by The Kingsbury Music Singers on select songs, a children’s choir under the expert direction of Shannon Kingsbury. A singer, songwriter, harpist and educator, Kingsbury is an active member of Guelph’s arts scene.
Together, the trio and choir deliver the familiar tunes of the album A Charlie Brown Christmas, Vince Guaraldi’s soundtrack of the 1965 Emmy Award-winning film. This annual concert has become an anticipated event for families gathering to celebrate the holidays. The performance is supported by returning Season Sponsor Richardson Wealth and Borealis Grille & Bar as part of the Borealis Music Series, which features local musicians on Guelph’s Main Stage.
Tickets to A Very Charlie Brown Concert are $25 for adults, $23 for patrons over 60, $20 for those under 30 years, and $10 for anyone under 14 years old.
