MORRISTON – Police are looking for four suspects involved in a home invasion that sent one person to hospital with a gunshot wound early on Sunday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the Morriston home at about 4:40am on Nov. 16.
Upon arrival, they “located one individual who had sustained injuries from a firearm,” stated a press release from the Wellington County OPP.
Spokesperson Craig Soldan confirmed it was a resident of the home that was shot.
Police initially said the victim was transported to a local hospital, but did not provide any details about their condition.
In a follow-up press release on Nov. 18, the OPP stated the victim “was transported to a local trauma centre to be treated for their injuries,” but again did not include any details about the person’s condition.
“This incident is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety,” police stated.

Soldan told the Advertiser on Sunday, just after 12pm, that the investigation is still “in the early stages,” so police could not confirm the number of suspects involved nor provide a description.
The second press release noted there were four suspects involved, who “fled in a four-door sedan.”
Police are seeking surveillance or dashcam footage captured on Highway 6 between Highway 401 and the QEW on Nov. 16 between 3 and 6am. Footage can be uploaded here.
“Even details that seem minor or unrelated may prove to be important,” police stated.
