Children’s Foundation gala raises record-breaking $230,000

GUELPH – The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington’s annual “Once Upon a Time Gala” raised a net total of over $230,000.

On Oct. 25, 250 guests came together at the Delta Hotel in Guelph to support local children and youth at the event presented by Elinesky Schuett Private Wealth of RBC Dominion Securities.

This year, the Children’s Foundation shone a spotlight on the importance of food security during the holidays for local families.

Through a special appeal known as “Fund a Happily Ever After,” guests raised funds to support the Adopt-A-Family program by providing grocery cards to families referred to the program.

The Michael and Carol Mueller Family Foundation generously matched up to $50,000 in donations made during the appeal, amplifying the impact of every gift and highlighting the power of community generosity.

“We’re still catching our breath from the magic of the gala and are filled with deep gratitude for the generosity that filled the room,” stated Children’s Foundation executive director Karyn Kirkwood in a press release.

“It’s been a tough year for so many across our community, which made this outpouring of support all the more powerful.

“The generosity from this event will help address the very real hunger children and families face year-round – and especially during the holidays – while also offering dignity, hope and the reassurance that every child is cared for.”

The Children’s Foundation was grateful to have Elinesky Schuett Private Wealth continue as presenting sponsor, a title it has held since 2019 – and it has recently renewed its sponsorship through 2028.

“We are excited to continue our long-time support of the Children’s Foundation and the Once Upon a Time Gala,” stated Elinesky Schuett Private Wealth senior portfolio manager Tom Schuett.

“This is such an important cause for myself and our team.”

Children’s Foundation officials are thanking all event partners and sponsors, whose support made the evening possible.

They recognized key event sponsors including Ambience Sponsor Mattamy Homes, Gold Sponsor Delta Hotels, and Silver Sponsors Barzotti Woodworking Limited and Co-operators Miles Insurance and Investments Inc.
