401 bridge rehabilitation

Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation is redesignating the rehabilitation of local bridges crossing Highway 401 to a lower category – a group C project.

The project would then have an environmental screening project prepared for internal use.

On Feb. 1, Puslinch councillors received information from Sabrina Stanlake on behalf of project manager John Gawley, of Dillon Consulting.

The MTO hired the consulting company to complete the Environmental Assessment and detailed design for the rehabilitation of the County Road 32, County Road 35 and Highway 6 (Hanlon Expressway) bridges over Highway 401 in Wellington County.

Stanlake wrote, “It was determined through consultation and environmental investigation that the proposed improvements will not result in any significant adverse environmental or property impacts.”

The project is anticipated to begin between 2012 and 2014, subject to funding an approvals.
