4-H: members learn about electricity

The third meeting of the 4-H engineering club was held on May 26. Once everyone arrived, president Nadia opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge.

While members watched a slideshow about electrical engineers, circuits, and magnetic currents, two club leaders made a train track using strong magnets.

All of this information would help members with our evening challenge which was to make a train to hover or repel over a metal magnet track.

Materials to use were a small fan (to help the train move), containers such as cups and any leftover materials from last week’s meeting.

Members were put into groups and started building. The designs were very interesting.

Once our building time was up, each group displayed and tested their design. We all had so much fun! President Nadia closed the meeting with the 4-H motto.
