4-H club gets cooking

Our first meeting for the Rockwood 4-H Explore Food club that was held at Dawn Doslon’s house on Jan. 17 at 1pm and ended at 4pm.

We first started with talking about what we were going to have for the next meeting then we got right into the cooking. We started out by cooking some cinnamon buns then we cooked some French toast. We took a break after that and decided to do the elections. For president was Avery, for vice president was Mary, for secretary was Amelia and Allison and for press report was Marijka and Jillian.

Once we were done, Avery opened with the motto and pledge. Then, we made egg cups and a strawberry a banana smoothie.

Our second meeting was at Dawn Dolson’s house from 1pm to 4pm. Avery open the meeting with the pledge then we read the secretary and the press reporter’s minutes.

This meeting we made garlic bread, chicken noodle soup, potato cheese soup and cream of tomato soup.

We started with the garlic bread first because it would take the longest. Then we went back and forth and did all the soups. After we made everything we tasted them, first the chicken noodle soup, then the potato cheese and then the cream of tomato soup and finally the garlic bread.

After we did all that, Avery closed the meeting with the motto and that was the end of the second meeting of the cooking club.
