“˜Exciting”™ new initiatives by the CWCF

The Centre Wellington Community Foundation (CWCF) has led some “exciting projects” over the past few months, officials say, and is proud to share some recent developments.

Vital Signs Project

One of the CWCF goals has been in helping the community move forward, both by growing capacity through grant-making activities and convening conversations.

In keeping with that commitment, the CWCF has invested in a Vital Signs project, which is a program of Community Foundations Canada, designed to take the pulse of the community and to help identify the key areas where action and attention is needed most.

This consultative process will examine the following three areas: the gap between rich and poor, leadership and belonging, and arts and culture. Insight derived from this process will provide the information to set community priorities and identify opportunities for action in Centre Wellington.

Supporting the CWCF through this process is project manager Erin Pratley, who has been coordinating the Vital Signs data-driven process since February.

A community advisory group, stakeholder consultations and a community-wide survey (available on the foundation’s website- http://cwcfoundation.ca) helps officials understand local issues and successes. A final report will be launched on Oct. 6.

CWCF community meeting

The Foundation would like to extend an invitation to Centre Wellington residents to its annual community meeting on June 15 at 7pm in the Nicholas Keith Room at the Wellington County Museum and Archives (RSVP by email to info@cwcfoundation.ca).

Ten mini-grant recipients will be announced and awarded; come and learn about the great work in the community and celebrate the successful grant recipients who are making change happen in Centre Wellington.

The success of the Vital Signs project, as well as the mini-grants program would not have been possible if it weren’t for the generous support of donors and community constituents.
