WELLINGTON NORTH – Wellington Heights Secondary School physical education department head Rob Drost, along with phys-ed teachers Bridget Kosempel and Matt McFarlane, coordinated borrowing of wheelchairs for the purpose of teaching their physical education students the sport of wheelchair basketball.

The Wellington Heights Athletic Council also seized the opportunity to organize wheelchair handball intramural games during lunch time, which was open to all Wolverine students. “In addition to learning to play these challenging new games for the first time, students also learned about the importance of accessibility,” school officials note.
