Centre Wellington’s Chief Administrative Officer Andy Goldie recently announced the appointment of Wes Snarr to the position of managing director of corporate services, effective July 9.
This now completes the appointments of the four managing directors for the new corporate structure approved by council in December of 2012.
Snarr brings over 22 years of financial and municipal experience to his new role.
Snarr has previously worked for the Town of Fergus, the Township of Eramosa and prior to that worked for the University of Guelph and several private sector companies.
He is also a certified general accountant and graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a bachelor of arts and an accounting diploma. Snarr is a member of the Canadian Institute of Management, and holds the C.I.M. (certified in management) and P.Mgr (professional manager) designations.
In his new role, Snarr will be responsible for the administrative services within the corporation, including finance, information technology, legislative services, customer service, council support and cemetery administration.
“Wes has displayed outstanding financial and management skills within our township and previously with the Town of Fergus for many years,” said Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj.
“I am excited that Wes will be part of our senior management team and look forward to continuing to work with Wes in his new role.”
Snarr stated he is “pleased to be part of the team of managing directors and overseeing the corporate services team to ensure quality customer service and strong financial planning throughout our organization.”
