Wellington North to move to phase one of graduated reopening plan

Initial phase allows in-person visits at municipal office by appointment

KENILWORTH – Wellington North will move to phase one of the township’s graduated reopening plan on July 6.

In the first phase, in-person visits to the Kenilworth municipal office will be allowed by scheduled appointment only.

The doors to the office will remain locked and citizens requiring a municipal service that cannot be served by an alternative transactional method (i.e. online or by phone) will be able to enter with an appointment and meet with a staff member in a meeting space that allows for physical distancing or an area where proper shielding is in place.

Visitors will be required to wear a face covering when entering the building.

In-person cash and debit payments will not be accepted at the office during phase one.

Municipal payments such as property tax and accounts receivable will continue to be accepted through:

  • the drop-box located beside the main entrance to the Kenilworth office;
  • online or telephone payments through a financial institution;
  • etransfer ( contact 519-848-3620 extension 4229 for instructions); and
  • pre-authorized payment plan.

Staff numbers will be limited at the Kenilworth office as the township continue to promote work from home, use of flex schedule(s) and use of alternate work sites.

All council and committee meetings will continue as scheduled using virtual platforms “that allow for easy, transparent viewing and participation from the public,” the township states in a July 3 notice.
