Wellington North Farmers Market opens May 8

There are many reasons why buying local makes sense. There is also significant peace of mind in knowing where food comes from. Shopppers can ask questions and enjoy the experience at the Wellington North Farmers’ Market, now entering its second season

The market will run Fridays, May 8 through Oct. 9, 3pm to 6:30pm, on King St. E. in Mount Forest, at the Victory Community Centre.

New this year, the market will feature a different theme with special programming the second Friday of each month.

“A Farmers’ Market is a good opportunity for the community to connect. It allows us to buy from and support our local farmers and producers, thus contributing to our local economy,” said Tourism, Marketing and Promotions Manager for the Township of Wellington North, April Marshall, “we are pleased to give our residents and visitors the opportunity to experience agriculture close up by hearing the story of where their food came from, straight from the person that grew and prepared it,” Marshall added.

The Wellington North Farmers’ Market is being brought to you by the collaboration and support of participating vendors, the Township of Wellington North, Wellington North Cultural Roundtable, Mount Forest Victory Church, Mount Forest Chamber of Commerce, Arthur Chamber of Commerce, MARCC Apparel, Forest Physiotherapy, Print One and Taste Real.

Interested vendors are asked to contact April Marshall at the Township of Wellington North.
