GUELPH – The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario is recognizing Volunteer Appreciation Week.
Each volunteer contribution, big or small, creates momentum and has the power to influence and inspire, joining a wave of positive change, say officials at the organization.
This is seen daily at The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario as more than 60 active volunteers, individuals and groups share their time, skills, empathy, and creativity with local youth.
The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario is celebrating National Volunteer Week from April 27 to May 3.
The theme for National Volunteer Week 2025 is Volunteers Make Waves, and they certainly do, officials state.
“Thank you to all our volunteers for making positive change in the lives of youth across Wellington County and Guelph. Your generosity, dedication, and compassion are the heart of The Grove,” said executive director Jeff Hoffman.
A press release outlined the contributions of three volunteers.
Tara is an educator who supports youth with tutoring, coaching, and tools for success.
“I’m grateful to be part of such a caring, like-minded team at The Grove, all working together to uplift and empower youth. Volunteering here truly fills my bucket,” she states in the release.
Peter is a musician who helps local youth learn to play the guitar.
“It’s exciting – there’s always something going on. You feel really at home coming here and you feel like you’re doing something for the community because when the youth are in here, they’re not out on the street,” Peter states in the release, adding he wishes there was a youth hub when he was growing up in Toronto.
Max is a University of Guelph student who volunteers at the Grove facilitating activities.
“I wanted to get involved in the community and make an impact, and I reached out to the Grove and have been loving it (volunteering) ever since,” says Max.
