Take Back the Night rally Sept. 22

Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis’ 30th annual Take Back the Night will take place on Sept. 22 at 6pm at Marianne’s Park, 176 Gordon Street, Guelph.

Sexual violence has an impact on the whole Guelph-Wellington community and beyond.

Therefore, it is important to raise awareness as well as advocate for and support those who have experienced sexual violence, organizers state.

Take Back the Night is a march and rally held to reclaim the streets, raise awareness, and foster solidarity against sexual violence.

On Sept. 22 at 6pm Guelph’s 30th Take Back the Night will begin at Marianne’s Park, 176 Gordon Street, Guelph.

This year’s Take Back the Night events will focus on intersectionality. Intersectionality recognizes that oppressive institutions such as race, class, and gender cannot be examined separately from one another, organizers explain.
