Sunrise raises $25,000 for therapy programs

On Sept. 26, Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre hosted its annual Hoofbeat Challenge fundraising event.

Under beautiful blue skies, over 35 visiting horse riders enjoyed exploring the 200 acres of trails, while many others walked their dogs, at the Sunrise farm in Puslinch Township.

All participants learned a little more about this charity and its programs as they discovered “Trivia Trail” answers throughout the day.

The pledged ride and hike was followed by a barbecue lunch and silent auction.   Guests also enjoyed music by the Swan Creek Jammers, a bake sale, tack sale, children’s activities and more. The event raised well over $25,000 towards Sunrise’s therapy and recreation programs for adults and children with special needs. Sunrise is a nationally accredited therapeutic riding centre that has been serving the local community since 1982.    Highest pledges awards went to Jack Ireland (junior) and Jim Christie (adult).
