Student walkout

GUELPH – High school students from GCVI, John F. Ross and Centennial High Schools in Guelph walked out of class on Nov. 13 “in solidarity with Palestine” according to Show Up Guelph, the organization that called for the walkout.

Students demanded their schools talk about Palestine, call for an immediate cease-fire, and “create a safe space for Palestinians and everyone else impacted by the ongoing atrocities.” Students walked and bused from their schools to Guelph City Hall, where organizers estimate between 200 and 300 people participated in the rally to stop “Canada’s complicity in war crimes.”
