On Sept. 12, MacPherson Builders celebrated the grand opening of Strathlea Community Park, Centre Wellington’s newest fully accessible playground.
The initiative to establish fully accessible play structures came from the community and a local group called Power of Play.
The park features colourful playground equipment with a combination of traditional and contemporary play areas.
Equipment that would be barriers for children with challenges has been eliminated, allowing them to use the park with minimal assistance. The playground also has a rubberized surface supplied by Ure-tech Surfaces Inc. maximizing the safety of those who use it.
