Small Business Finance for Creative Professionals workshop offered Oct. 17

Guelph Arts Council is collaborating with Meridian Credit Union to present Small Business Finance for Creative Professionals, an interactive workshop for artists and creative professionals on day-to-day and small business finance.

The workshop will be led by Meridian Credit Union staff with support from local accountants and bookkeepers, and is a follow-up to the well-received Financial Literacy for Creative Professionals session presented in June.

The three-hour workshop begins at 6pm on Oct. 17 at the Guelph Public Library at 100 Norfolk St. The workshop is free (pay-what-you-can, all proceeds to GAC).

Registration is required and can be done online or by calling Guelph Arts Council at 519-836-3280.

In announcing the workshop, Guelph Arts Council executive director Patti Broughton said, “Financial management is important for everyone, but in a special way for artists, who are often self-employed or have multiple sources of income.

“Dealing with finances can be overwhelming, particularly when faced with many options and conflicting information.

“This workshop will help cut through the clutter, and equip creative professionals with skills to effectively manage their day-to-day business finances.”
