The search for Kaden Young is entering its fifth week.

Young, 3, of Waldemar went missing in the early hours of Feb. 21 after a van driven by his mother was swept into the Grand River near Waldemar in Amaranth Township, west of Orangeville.

Dufferin County OPP officials announced on Feb. 26 police were scaling back the search; however, volunteers still search for the boy.

Volunteers meet daily in Waldemar and are searching along the Grand River from where the boy was swept into the river at Highway 109 to Belwood Lake’s Shand Dam.

Memorials have been set up along bridges. Stuffed animals and messages of hope have been left along the Wellington Road 26 bridge across Belwood Lake.
