Rockmosa Older Adult Centre hosts grand opening on Nov. 20

The Township of Guelph-Eramosa will host an open house on Nov. 20 to celebrate the grand opening of the Rockmosa Older Adult Centre.

The new centre is located at 85 Christie St. in Rockwood, the same building as the library.

There will be refreshments in the morning and free workshops throughout the day starting at 10am. A ribbon cutting will take place at 12pm with Mayor Chris White, followed by a light lunch. For more information visit www.get.on.ca.

“We are very excited to open the new Rockwood Older Adult Centre to offer greater opportunities for active living and social interaction for older adults in our community,” said White.

The centre features a kitchenette, social gathering area, TV, gas fireplace and ample folding tables and chairs. Outside, there will be a newly-renovated, open space enabling garden.

The centre can be used to enjoy a book or meet with friends and there will be programs for drop-in social activities and events.

In the coming months, Guelph-Eramosa staff will be reaching out to the community to seek input into the type and style of programming that will be successful at the new Rockwood Older Adult Centre.
