Road project tenders approved

Guelph-Ermoasa council has approved three tenders totalling over $720,000.

The most expensive one approved last week was for $313,915, from Cox Construction, for the supply of asphalt to resurface parts of Paisley Road and the Milton-Eramosa Townline (the township will invoice Milton $125,000 for its portion of the latter job).

Three other tenders were received, ranging in price from $328,334 to $364,612. The township had budgeted $291,900 for the project.

The second most costly tender approved last week was one for $290,878, from Drexler Construction, for a water main and sanitary sewer rover crossing project along Highway 7 in Rockwood.

The only other tender received, from A. Van Egmond Construction, was for $461,781. The township had budgeted $320,000 for the project.

The final tender approved last week was for $117,140, from Cox Construction, for the supply of asphalt to repair the following Rockwood streets: Pasmore, Balaclava, Inkerman, Clara, George, Water, Pine and the interior road of Lloyd Dyer Park.

The three other tenders received ranged in price from $129,241 to $131,415. The township had budgeted $235,140 for Rockwood resurfacing and the approved tender  is within the range for the asphalt portion of the project. The rest will be used for gravel, catch basin improvements, cross culverts, painting and curb and sidewalk work.
