Puslinch resident publishes The Busy Bee

PUSLINCH – Puslinch resident Jacquelyn Thomas is releasing The Busy Bee on June 14, a book of affirmations for children.

The book  is to be released online and will be available through Amazon.

It centres on a “little bee that takes you on a journey of kindness,” said Thomas, adding her goal for the book is to encourage positivity.

The Busy Bee is for people growing up who don’t feel like enough, she said.

While there is a bit of a story to the book, it focuses on encouraging children to practice affirmations, as using these kinds of positive phrases tends to be something more geared towards adults, said Thomas.

“Through her book, Jacquelyn Thomas aims to familiarize children with the value of kindness in an engaging and super interesting way. She seeks to encourage young readers to learn about the various ways in which they can be kind to others by relating how and why the busy bee is so kind to everyone,” states a press release submitted to the Advertiser.

The idea first came about in January and from there Thomas decided to write and illustrate this project, her first-ever book.

The story is being published through Hasmark Publishing International.

While this is Thomas’s first book she is not planning to make it her last.

“I hope to continue to write a series of  affirmations,” she said, adding she also has tentative plans for a cookbook.

Thomas noted her personal inspiration for the project, saying, “I’m a mom of two little girls… I want them to be inspired as well.”
