Plump pumpkins win the day at Metz Pumpkinfest

METZ – The annual Metz Pumpkinfest took place at St. Paul’s United Church on Sept. 30.

Children got to carve pumpkins, take tractor- and horse-drawn rides, jump in a bouncy castle, and of course, try their hand at the locally-famous pumpkin cannon.

Awards were also given for the largest pumpkins and zucchini.

Bob Wright won for a 255-pound pumpkin, Ember Giles for a 240-pound pumpkin, Kate Haid for a 25-pound pumpkin and Donna Jamieson for a 9.6-pound zucchini.
