WELLINGTON NORTH – Few details are available about an incident here on Friday morning that left one person dead and two others in hospital.
Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to a house on Concession 9, west of Arthur, on Feb. 2 at about 10:45am.
“Initial reports indicated that three individuals were found unresponsive,” police stated in a press release issued at 6:35pm that evening.
All three were taken to hospital, where one of them, a 28-year-old from South Bruce Peninsula, was pronounced dead.
“The Office of the Chief Coroner was notified, the investigation is ongoing,” police stated in the press release.
On Feb. 5, OPP spokesperson Josh Cunningham told the Advertiser police “are waiting for the coroner’s report to help us discover (the) cause of death.”
He added a 39-year-old from Meaford and a 42-year-old from Wellington North “are recovering.”
