One person dead following crash in Wellington North

WELLINGTON NORTH – One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash here on Monday morning.

In a video posted on social media just after 1pm on Nov. 21, OPP spokesperson Josh Cunningham stated the crash took place on Highway 6, just south of Mount Forest, at around 10am.

“One person was transported to a local hospital but sadly, was pronounced deceased,” Cunningham stated in the social media post.

The video features a close-up of Cunningham speaking, with what is assumed to be the deceased person’s vehicle in the background, in a snow-covered field adjacent to the road.

In a press release issued at 3:35pm, Cunningham stated “the identity of the deceased will be withheld pending the notification to the next of kin.”

A portion of Highway 6 was to remain closed for some time, Cunningham stated, adding anyone with information can contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
