Johanna ‘Jo’ Hendrika (Kapers) Woestenenk of Harriston passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Sunday, November 19, 2023 in her 91st year, surrounded by the love of her family. Wife of the late Derk Woestenenk. Mother of Mary Joan & Jack Beamish of Mount Forest, Donald Woestenenk of Palmerston, John Woestenenk of Palmerston, Harold Woestenenk of Gowanstown, Janet Woestenenk of Elmira, Ingrid & Hugh Hotchkiss of Harriston, and Shirley & Rick Vanderkooy of Tavistock. Grandmother of Blake & Brittany Beamish, Scott & Courtney Beamish, Alex & Samantha Beamish, Lindsay & Lana Beamish, Michael Woestenenk & Samantha Phelps, Ryan Woestenenk, Krystal & Michael Williamson, Jeff Hotchkiss, Lauren Hotchkiss, Megan DeVries & Peter Epler, Curtis & Samantha DeVries, Branden Vanderkooy & Amanda Stratford, and the late Greg Vanderkooy. Great-grandmother of Mackenzie Williamson, Kylie Williamson, Logan Beamish, Delaney Beamish, Alexis Beamish, Landon Beamish, Georgia Beamish, Bennett Beamish, Colton Beamish, Carter Beamish, Marek Epler, Scarlett DeVries, Cedar DeVries, Noah DeVries, Kayce Vanderkooy, and Hazel Vanderkooy. Loved also by her siblings Jan & Hanny Kapers, and Henny Banda, and Derk’s siblings, Bertha & Gerrit Gotink, Gerrit & Toos Langeler, and Jan Langeler, and their families, all in Holland. Predeceased by her parents Jan and Hendrika Kapers, brothers Henk Kapers and his wife Teune, and Derk Jan Kapers and his wife Lina, her sister Gerry Lebbink and her husband Gerritt, and by her brother-in-law Lou Banda. Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Thursday, November 23rd from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston, on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 1:30pm. Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
