Widdis, Robert (Bob) Alexander. Peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, September 5th, 2010 at Shelburne Residence in his 93rd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Blanche for 61 years. Cherished father of Heather (Murray Ritchie), Betty Lou (Mario Acchione – predeceased) and Cathy (Robert Barr). Sadly missed by brother Arthur (Helen). Loving grandfather of Kurt (Trish), Travis (Andrea), Logan (Nicole), Brock, Chet Ritchie, Michael (predeceased), Theresa (Desmond Parkinson), Joanna, Nick (Dori) Acchione, Conor and Liam Barr. Great-grandfather of Taylor and Sidney Ritchie and Baylee and Abi Burdak. Dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers William and George and sisters Agnes Luxton, Marguerite Ferrier, Ella McLellan, Florence Ferrier, Ida Rooney and Irene Oaks. The family received friends at Simes Funeral Home, 48 Main St. S., Grand Valley on Tuesday, September 7th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30pm. Interment followed at Grand Valley Union Cemetery. In Robert’s memory, donations may be made to Monticello United Church, Trinity United Church, Grand Valley, Grand River Conservation Foundation or a charity of your choice.
