A man of many passions known for his high energy, wonderful smile and compassion, “Sparky” never shied from hard work and loved to help others. He retired at age 80 after over 40 years at Imperial Optical and almost 20 years running his own successful business, Steffler Hearing Aid Service, where he cared for his clients as if they were family. He was proud to serve his community as a civilian scuba diver for the police, a walker for St John’s Ambulance and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the local Kiwanis club. He was also devoted to Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mike instilled in his family many traits from curiosity, a strong work ethic, a sense of humour and mischief, as well as stubbornness and a “don’t quit” attitude, for which they are all grateful.
