Parkinson, Donald Leonard – Of R.R. 4, Guelph, passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in his 86th year. Donald was an Air Force veteran of World War Two. Beloved husband of 60 years to Margaret Isabel (nee Major). Loved father of Peter (Pat) of Palmerston, Randy (Lena) of R.R. 5, Rockwood, Terry (Debbie) of Guelph, Reid (Bonny) of R.R. 2, Ariss, Sally Anne (Len) Songer of Rocky Mountain House, AB and Francis of Paisley. Loving grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Warren (Jean) Parkinson of R.R. 4, Guelph and brother-in-law of Jean Jackson of R.R.4, Rockwood and George (Betty) Major of Guelph. Predeceased by parents Jim and Ida Parkinson and two sisters, Jean and Dorothy and brothers-in-law Stuart Major and William Jackson. Friends were received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Friday (2-4 and 7-9pm). Funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2pm. Interment Johnson Cemetery, Eramosa Township. Reception followed at Barrie Hill United Church.
