Paquette, Michel

Paquette, Michel – Left this world Thursday, May 12, 2011. He is sadly missed by his wife, Linda (Beam), of 40 years, his children Dominique (Andrew), Katrina (Edward), David (Tanya) and Elisabeth, as well as those who knew him as Papa; Thomas, William and Abigail. Born June 7, 1946 in Ottawa to Ludovic and Pierette Paquette, the eldest of eleven children, he eventually settled there after growing up on military bases in Ontario and Quebec. Mike set out in the work force at age 20, working with CNCP, and related companies, for 36 years. Upon retirement, Mike found enjoyment in working with Habitat for Humanity Wellington County and the Restore. However, it is his love of the great outdoors, camping and canoeing, for which he will be remembered. Family and friends were received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Saturday, May 14 (7-9pm) and Sunday, May 15 (2-4 and 7-9pm). A public interment service was held at Grand Valley Union Cemetery on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 1pm, followed by a celebration of Michel’s life at Knox Presbyterian Church, 10 Water St., Grand Valley at 2pm. Reception followed in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rockwood Presbyterian Church, the Friends of South Luther School or a charity of your choice. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the community which has so graciously supported them. (519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com)
