NORRIS, Sarah Blanche

At home and surrounded by love, S. Blanche Norris of Guelph, Ontario, in her 102 year, succumbed to age related ailments. Celebrated as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, her family mourns. Yvonne and the late Edward Card (David, Alan, Wendy, Tim, Mark Card); Dianna Ford and Tom McKay and Grant Ford and Marilyn Campbell (TerriAnn, Steve, Jayne Ford); the late Robert Pinder and Jean Powell (Susan Moss, Jeff Pinder); the late Alfred and late Lorraine Pinder (Leeanne Bozich, Brad, Michael Pinder); the late Donald and Peggy Pinder (John, Rob, Angie, Lisa, Kory Pinder) all grieve. Born in Hamilton in 1920 she was raised in Rockwood and much of her adult life throughout farming and retirement she lived in the Rockwood, Puslinch, Elora, Fergus, and Guelph area. She was an aunt to both her birth family and her loving husband the late Arthur Pinder’s family. Blanche was a faithful companion to Harold Norris and welcomed the friendship of his extended family particularly that of Bob and the late Marion Norris. Blanche was a life member of the UCW and found joy and friendships through her congregational involvement at Barrie Hill United Church and the Bible Study Group in her later years, and in Naples, Florida at Mayflower Church. The Sally Ann’s 55 Club was fondly remembered. Family, music, gardening, domestic tasks, and travelling were of great interest. She had personally driven to each province and loved finding out about Canada and its natural diversity. In later years, the history of Canada became something she eagerly read about. As a snowbird for over 35 years, Blanche loved her home at Enchanting Acres in Naples, Florida and was an active participant in the planning and execution of social events for years prior to being the fervent supporter of community events. She will be missed by the community where she traditionally celebrated her February 29th birthday and her Canadian community. Special thank you to Dr. Karen Alexopoulos for her outstanding care and compassion. An autumn celebration of her life is being planned with the Rev. Lynn Hamilton and the Barrie Hill Community. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel. Donations may be made to Barrie Hill United Church in Memory of Blanche Norris.
