It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of James Murray, peacefully at Palmerston and District Hospital surrounded by his family, on Friday, April 23, 2010 of Acute Leukemia in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Joanne (Gilmer) Murray for 54 years. Dear father of Stephen and Sherri-Lee Murray, Susan and Rob Braun, Heather and Harvey Bults, Pam Murray and Dave Townsend. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Brandon and Trish Murray, Shayne and Mindy Murray; Bridget Braun and Ryan West; Jenny Bults and Curtis Bults; Robyn and James MacEwen; Jon Van Soest and Laura Camp. Loving great grandfather of Cole, Devin and Carter Murray and Jayden James Van Soest. Brother-in-law of Jean Murray of Moorefield, Barbara Chipman of Toronto and Nancy and Robert Richardson of Elora. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was the last surviving member of his family. Predeceased by his parents John E. and Dell (Campbell) Murray, his siblings Neil Murray, Opal Murray in infancy, Lorne Murray, Doris (Murray) Noseworthy, Ivan Murray and one brother-in-law John R. Chipman. The family received friends at the Maryborough Community Center, 15 Ball Ave., Moorefield on Wednesday evening, April 28, 2010 from 7-9pm and Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 1-4 and 7-9pm. A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held in the Moorefield United Church on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11am followed by a reception at Maryborough Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to Moorefield United Church, Palmerston Hospital Foundation, Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Arthritis Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
