Mitchell, Elwood Walton; of Listowel and formerly of Palmerston and Maryborough Township passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday June 28, 2010, at age 88. Much loved husband of the late Lucy Mae (Dennis) Mitchell (2000). Dear father of Steven and his wife Diane of Clifford, Linda and her husband Bernie Krotz of Waterloo, Allan and his wife Kathy of Kurtzville, Don and his wife Brenda of Listowel and Joy Mitchell and her partner Mac Raynard of Waterloo. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Jeff Mitchell of R.R.#3, Harriston, Julie Coelho of Palmerston, Jesse McLean of Waterloo and Matt Mitchell and Marla Mitchell of Listowel; and his great grandchildren Stephannie, Laura, Kurtis, Mark and Tyson Mitchell and Austin Coelho. As well as his loving companion and best friend Pat. Brother of Mary Cavers of Springfield Mass., Frances and Mervin Wenzel of Palmerston, Gladys and Mac Aitken of Fergus and
George Mitchell and his wife Norma of R.R.#1 Palmerston. Remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends and relatives were invited to share memories of Elwood’s life with his family at Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Tuesday June 29, 2010 from 6-pm to 9pm and on Wednesday June 30, 2010 from 10am to 11am. Rev Ralph Dwarika conducted the Service in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11am. Interment Derryadd Cemetery. Reception followed at Palmerston United Church. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Derryadd Cemetery or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
