Of Palmerston passed away peacefully at the Royal Terrace Nursing Home, Palmerston on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in her 95th year. Cherished wife of the late Jim McCann (2008). Loving mother of Donna and Dave Braun of Kitchener, Larry McCann of Palmerston and the late Doug McCann (2017). Grandmother of Christopher and Jeannine Braun, Jessica Braun and husband Abhinav Agarwal; Matt and Amanda McCann and Mallory and Josh Hoffman. Great grandmother of Amelia, Hattie, Olive, Mya, Emily and Maeve. Sister-in-law of Bruce Ament and Jim and Margaret Renwick. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Leona (Hahn) Fisher and sibling Bruce Fisher. Her reunion with family brings solace and peace to our hearts knowing that they are together once more. Shirley’s life changed instantly and drastically a week before her passing and the family is very grateful for the gentle and attentive care she received at Royal Terrace, from the kind staff, especially the nurses, therapists and P.S.W.’s. To honour Shirley’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the James Street United Church, Palmerston on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1:00pm to 1:45pm. Rev. Jeff Hawkins will conduct the Memorial Service of Remembrance at 2:00pm. Spring Interment in Palmerston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation, MRI Campaign, James Street United or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
