Hofstra, Gabe of Drayton, the family of Gabe Hofstra announce his passing on December 4, 2011 at the Royal Terrace Nursing Home in Palmerston in his 94th year. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by his loved ones singing him into heaven. Beloved husband of Jantina Hofstra (nee Kuper-Jagt) and the late Ann Hofstra (1999). Father of Linda and Earl Turriff of Lakefield, Hannah and Bernie Veld of Moorefield, Anne Shirley of Kitchener, Andy and Shirley Hofstra of Rosthern, Sask., Gerrit Hofstra and his friend Terri of Prince George B.C. and Joyce and Joe Stanic of Waterloo. Grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather of Bob Turriff, Ron Turriff, Jen Turriff, Tricia and Gord Millar, Andrew and Joshua; Albert and Cheryl Veld, Matthew and Stacie Veld, Ryder and Daniel and Nicole Veld, Caden, Makina and Colin; Trudy and Wilf Stroetinga, Melanie and Steve Rowley, Crystal and Nate Van Denend and twins Tristen and Ashlyn; Kerry and Joanne Veld, Michelle and Greg Pa lof, Wyatt and Lynden, Jason and Heather Stangler, Tashiana Veld and Amy Lee Veld, Benny Veld, Brandon, Tyler and Sheldon, Joann and Kevin Walker, Mitchel, Nicole and Kelsey; Gerald and Joanne Veld, Rachel and Avery; Anita and Collin Diefenbaker, Megan, Emily and Sarah; Shiela Trask and Dave Coccia, Jessie and Jamie, Valerie and Steve Askew, Connor and Avery, Greg and Daniella Roth, Eden and Shaelyn; Michelle Hofstra, Michael and Chantel Hofstra, Lindsay Hofstra; Gerrit Hofstra Jr.; Janine Stanic and Blayne Stanic. As well as their children and grandchildren. Brother of Sietske Hofstra and Gerrit Hofstra both of the Netherlands. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews in the Netherlands. Predeceased by one great grandson Collin Harper (2009), sister An De Wind and brother Aesge Hofstra. The family will receive friends at the Community Mennonite Church Wellington Street Drayton on Thursday December 8, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Community Mennonite Church on Friday December 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Community Mennonite Church, Drayton or the Food Bank would be appreciated by the Family.
