Grimstad, Dr. Kari Anne

Grimstad, Dr. Kari Anne; Associate Professor of German studies at the University of Guelph from 1965 to 2001. Born in Toronto on April 28, 1937 and died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph. Loving wife of the late Dr. Hans Eichner (April 2009). Survived by son David, his wife Katrina (Miller) and their children Freya and Desmond of Toronto, stepson James Eichner, his wife Carol Alexander and their daughter Madeline of Vancouver BC, stepdaughter E. Jane Best, her husband Paul; their children; Anna and Jonathan of Gore Bay, ON, Aunt Dagny, cousins Gunnar Pettersen, Kjell-Anton Pettersen, Bjorn Pettersen, Petter Pettersen and Hall Guttelvik all of Norway.  Predeceased by her parents Knut Grimstad and Anne Pettersen and sister Ingrid Grimstad. Kari charmed everyone she met and will be sorely missed by all. Cremation taking place. The family will host a celebration of her life and invite all to join them at Heaven on 7, Bistro & Pub, 262 Main Street South, Rockwood, ON, on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 2:00pm. Memorial contributions to the Kidney Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
