FRYETT, Bruce Edward

Peacefully on January 17th 2023 in his 96th year, 3 years after the late Margaret Marian (Vanner) Fryett, his beloved spouse of 70 years.  Loving father of James Edward Fryett and his wife Marney Lee (Grant) of Elora; and Jeffrey Charles Fryett and his wife Anny Marie (Møller) of Vega, Norway.  Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Andrea Nicole Fryett and partner Rob Eng; Lindsey Anne Fryett-Jerke and husband David Jerke; and Taylor Kendra Teal and partner Aviery De Rousie; and Øistein Bruce Edward Fryett and partner Hege Wettergreen. Loving great grandfather of Owen James Jerke, Grace Marian  Jerke, Marius Skretting-Fryett and Melina Wettergreen-Fryett.  Survived by his step sister Mary Bevan and dear cousin Madeline Walsh.  Predeceased by his daughter Judy Francis (Fryett) Teal. Private Graveside Service to be held at the Waterford Cemetery in spring 2023 with a virtual celebration of life for family and friends. Bruce grew up in the rural community of Bealton, Ontario with his Aunt Fanny (Fryett) and Uncle William Myerscough, with cousins Viola and Madeline, before moving to Burlington in 1949 to establish his home and family with Margaret. He joined the Canadian National Railway in 1944 working in Burlington, Hamilton, Sarnia and Fort Erie to establish his home with Margaret.  They lived there with their family until transferring to Fort Erie in 1965. Retiring at the age of 61 in 1988 from the CNR, Bruce became an avid wood sculptor, turning out several award winning carvings.  In 2016, Bruce and Margaret relocated to Station Square in Elora where they enjoyed the final years of their long and happy life together. Memorial donations may be made to the Guelph Rotary Club.
