Davy, Elizabeth Ann (Liz); May 5, 1940 – October 10, 2010, Resident of Toronto. After a courageous 1 year battle with cancer, Liz passed away peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital. Liz was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she attended nursing school. Liz was Vice-President Human Resources, at Bowne Canada, and most recently National Human Resources Director at Bayshore Home Health. Liz was the only child of the late Raymond Bedwell and Anne Bedwell, and was the beloved wife of James Davy for over 30 years. Liz will forever be remembered by her son Shaun Laverty, granddaughter Ana Mendez, daughter-in-law Sabri Mendez-Laverty, stepson Grant Davy, and devoted friends, June, Jack, Judy, Bob, George, Christine, Ian and Nancy, along with countless other friends and family who were blessed with her love and friendship. Liz loved life with a great passion. She spent every free moment with her family and friends always providing love, laughter, support and encouragement to all those around her. Liz touched the hearts and minds of many people with her zest for life, smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark poise all the way to the end. She will be greatly missed. Family and friends would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at the Brampton Civic Hospital, especially Nurse Diana in the ICU, for their professionalism and compassion during Liz’s hospitalization. Friends and family were invited to attend a visitation and reception on Monday, October 18 from 4-6pm at The Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga ON L4W 5J1. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
