Buitenhuis, Henderika Passed away from this life into the glory of the Lord, peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, July 9, 2011 in her 97th year. Born in Germany, November 12, 1914 to the late Hermanus and Maria Finke. Beloved wife of the late Egbert (2000). Dear mother of Herman and Martha Buitenhuis of Rockwood, Margaret and Chris Merkus of Cambridge, Bert and Ria Buitenhuis of Guelph, Jenny Fodchuk and friend John of Oakville, Brenda and Bill MacPhee of Eganville, Henry and Pauline Buitenhuis of Sturgeon Falls and Brian and Theresa Buitenhuis of Burlington. Loved Oma to nineteen and great Oma to thirty one. Predeceased by her daughter Jentje (1943), three brothers and four sisters. Friends were received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Tuesday (7-9pm). Interment was held at Woodlawn Memorial Park followed by a service to celebrate Henderika’s life at the First Christian Reformed Church, 287 Water St., Guelph on Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 at 11am. Memorial contributions to the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC) would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Henderika Buitenhuis in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 2:30pm.
