Arato, Ann (Arthur)

Arato, Ann (Arthur); It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Ann Arato (Arthur) on February 27, 2011, in New Britain, CT. Ann was born on April 14, 1931 in Fergus. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Edna Arthur. A lovely service was held for Ann at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home in New Britain, Connecticut on March 3 for her family and friends (http://obit.newingtonmemorial.com/obitdisplay.html?id=900000&listing=Current). Although she had moved away from the Elora/Fergus area many years ago; she always thought of it as home and had shared many fond memories with us. Her wish was to return this summer. We will be honouring that wish with a memorial tribute, at a date to be determined. Ann was a graduate of the Hamilton Teachers’ College and was one of the first women to achieve the level of Navigator in the U.S. Power Squadron. Ann is survived by her children Gordon Revey of Colorado,  Elaine Wallace and her husband Tom of Toronto, John Revey of Virginia and Victoria Lepak and her husband Ron of Connecticut. She was a very proud and beloved “Grannie Annie” to Alex Revey, Lindsay, Laura and Kathleen Wallace, Scott and Rachel Revey and Jeffrey and Bradley Lepak. Ann in her earlier years, was an avid boater and skier. She enjoyed surfing the net, knitting and was a lover of animals; but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family. We will all miss her intellect, wit and numerous stories. Anyone who wishes to attend the memorial service may contact her daughter Elaine at (416) 544-8193 or loni1210@hotmail.com.
