Allen, Dorothy; The family of Dorothy Allen sadly announces her passing at St Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph, on Thursday, May 26, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer, at age 78. Dorothy Marie Warne, wife of the late Kenneth Allen of Acton. Loving mother of Mark Wolfe and Wavey of Angus, Russell and Karen of Fergus, Robert and Gylanne of Everett, Rick of Winnipeg and Jim of Ottawa. Dear grandmother of Jessica, Bradley and the late Matthew Allen, Tyler, Troy and Todd Allen, Laura Newman and her son Evan, and Jordan, Joshua and Marie Allen. Sister of Roy and Carol Warne, Marjorie and Bill Bell, Vera and Ron Pinson and the late Edith and the late Peter Binnie. Dorothy will be remembered from her years of teaching in Acton, her many social and community services and for her dedication to God and family who were the centre of her life. Dorothy’s dedication to others was recognized by the community in 1999, naming her Citizen of the Year. Friends were received both Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Her funeral service was at Broadway Tabernacle, Highway #9 West, Orangeville, Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at 1pm. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Acton. In lieu of flowers, donations to Guelph General Hospital Cancer Unit or Crossroads Christian Children’s foundation would be appreciated.
