Mapleton Township public works director Jamie Morgan retires
Township to pay $22,500 for recruitment services
DRAYTON – Mapleton is on the hunt for a new director of infrastructure and community services.
The position is left open in the wake of Jamie Morgan’s retirement, and the township has hired Jon Stungevicius of Waterhouse Executive Search to lead the way in finding his replacement.
Stungevicius’ services will cost the township $22,500, which was not in the budget and will come from labour relations reserves.
“Given the significant number of infrastructure projects currently underway, as well as those planned for the near future, it is critical that the township secure a qualified replacement as quickly as possible to ensure continuity in project delivery and avoid any disruptions during the construction season or with long-term capital initiatives,” stated CAO Manny Baron in a staff report presented to council on June 9.
Baron said Morgan “played a significant role in transforming how infrastructure projects are planned, managed and delivered. His extensive experience, leadership and collaborative management style have been tremendous assets to the organization.”
He added, “We wish Jamie a long, healthy and enjoyable retirement and hope he has the opportunity to spend quality time wit his wife, Leeanne, and family while pursuing the many interests and adventures that retirement will bring.”
