Man charged with impaired driving in crash that killed pedestrian

An Erin man is being charged with impaired driving after a vehicle he was operating struck and killed another man.

On Dec. 2 at 9:39pm, Grey County OPP received a report of a single-vehicle collision on private property along Grey Road 12 in Grey Highlands. 

Police say a white Dodge Ram struck Craig Hamilton, 53, of Erin, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Kyle Hamilton, 22, of Erin, was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system. He is to appear in court on Dec. 14.

Grey County OPP constable Kevin Martin told the Advertiser he can not divulge the relationship between the driver and deceased pedestrian.
