Lots to change if road name altered

When is a road name more than just a name?

As Puslinch councillors debate the potential name change of Swastika Trail, residents will want to consider what will change other than street signs.

Some of these changes or potential changes required include the following:

– Driver’s licence (within six days), boating licence, fishing licence;

– Vehicle registration (within 6 days) for each vehicle owned;

– Health card;

– Passport;

– Canada Revenue Agency information;

– Canada pension;

– Old Age Security;

– Employment Insurance;

– Canada Post, Online shopping – delivery;

– Hydro/gas;

– Bell – (cell or land line supplier), Rogers, etc.;

– Internet provider;

– All bank accounts and  credit cards;

– Service clubs

– Doctor, dentist, etc.;

– Stock broker/investments;

– School/Collages/Universities;

– Workplace and professional organizations;

– Newspaper delivery;

– Insurance companies, house, car, etc.;

– Magazine subscriptions;

– Emergency services/911;

– Mortgage company;

– Lawyer fees;

– Property deeds, transfers etc.;

– Business cards/ letterhead;

– Maps/Google maps/GPS software; and,

– Address labels or other items which include an address.
