Wellington County libraries will be busy as the holiday season approaches. Families, teens, youth and seniors are encouraged to visit their local branch or the library online to see what is happening.
“There’s something for everyone,” says information services librarian Lindsay Trimble.
“It’s like visiting your family during the holidays. We want our communities to join with us to celebrate this festive season with books, movies, games and activities.”
A Holiday Open House: Hogwarts Yule Ball was held at at the Rockwood branch on Dec. 3. and a Community Carol Sing was held at the Marden Branch that evening.
A Victorian Christmas event will be held at the Mount Forest branch. Register by calling 519-323-4541 for this all ages event to be held on Dec. 15 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. The event features an evening of Christmas readings from classic literature, music, crafts and refreshments. Please register.
A Turkey Rhubarb concert suitable for all ages will be held at the Drayton branch on Dec. 16 at 6:30pm. Participants can celebrate the season with the music of children’s band Turkey Rhubarb!
A Culture Night is planned at the library at the Fergus branch on Dec. 18 from 4:30 to 7:30pm.
Organizers promise festive fun for the whole family on the second floor of the library featuring live music by The Ernie Kalwa Jazz Trio. Special Christmas story time will start at 6:30pm.
