A local food trade show that provides a platform to meet new business contacts, learn about industry resources and related organizations, as well as a chance to sample local food, is set to take place on Feb. 24.
Taste Real’s Business to Business Networking Event takes place at Loyola House, Ignatius Jesuit Centre just north of Guelph from noon to 5:30pm and everyone is welcome. The event features a keynote address from agri-food columnist “the Urban Cowboy” and director of research and agricultural communications at the University of Guelph Dr. Owen Roberts.
Break-out sessions will look at new opportunities for food service operators.
Information on regional initiatives available for farmers and food businesses will be available.
Also available that day is the Regional Tourism Organization 4 Agri Culinary Tourism Product Development Workshop, commencing at 9am.
Through local research and assessment conducted by the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance, the workshop will identify and detail potential opportunities for the area and provide an overview of updated research on culinary tourism trends, while facilitating options for moving forward.
This event is open to all businesses, organizations and individuals interested in making connections to local food in the region.
