Lions Easter Egg Hunt draws crowd for family fun
Easter fun – Riley Rundle appeared to be having a great time at the second annual Mount Forest Lions’ Easter Egg Hunt on April 8 at Campbell Devore Park. A large crowd of colourfully-dressed families braved single-digit temperatures to scour the lawn for eggs. Paw Patrol characters and the Easter Bunny were on hand for photos, and free hotdogs and water were provided. Attendees donated $355 to the local food bank with co-sponsor Mount Forest Scotiabank matching that amount. Organizers say they were pleased with the turnout of about 230 youngsters, roughly the same as last year. Photo by Sue Hogenkamp

Easter in the park – The second annual Mount Forest Lions’ Easter Egg Hunt was held on April 8 at Campbell DeVore Park. A large crowd of colourfully dressed families braved single-digit temperatures to scour the lawn for eggs. Paw Patrol characters, as well as the Easter Bunny, drew long lines for photos. Free hotdogs and water were provided, and $355 in donations to the local food bank were received. Co-sponsor Mount Forest Scotiabank matched the dollar amount for the food bank. Organizers were pleased with the turnout of about 230 youngsters, about the same attendance as last year. Brooklyn Haines was a fast learner when it came to collecting Easter eggs. Jennifer and Cooper Hopkins enjoyed meeting Paw Patrol characters and the Easter Bunny. Eliza Price tallies up her Easter eggs with her dad, Grant.
