Libraries offer 12 Days of Reading book bundles

WELLINGTON NORTH – ‘Tis the season for reading! Wellington County Library encourages you to give the gift of stories with our “12 Days of Reading” book bundles for kids.

Starting Dec. 8, visit your local branch for a bundle of 12 curated books to read in the days leading up Dec. 25. 

Bundles are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and include holiday-themed books and other titles chosen by staff. 

Book bundles for adults may also be available.

Looking for other family-friendly activities to enjoy this December? Wellington County Library has a variety of festive programs on offer. 

Our line-up includes fireside story times, decorating parties, indoor snowball fights, and scavenger hunts.

Holiday Trees (Adults)

Stop by and show us your unique style as we create decorative holiday trees. Use twine, pompoms or paper and dazzle your December guests with your new tabletop tree. Please register.

Fireside Stories (All Ages)

Cozy up by the fireside as we read special wintertime stories. Enjoy an activity or our branch scavenger hunt afterwards. Please register.

Tree Decorating Party

 (Kids and Tweens)

Enjoy decking the halls of our library with festive decor, as well as creating custom ornaments to hang on the tree. Please register.

Stories with Mrs. Claus

 (All Ages)

Spend an evening by the fireside with special guest, Mrs. Claus, as we enjoy festive stories and a cup of hot chocolate. Please register.

Macrame Gnome Ornament
(Ages 13 and up)

Join us as we create a fun gnome ornament using easy macrame techniques. All supplies will be provided. Please register.

Fun with Robots (All Ages)

Looking for something to do during the holiday break? Drop in and try out our robots, including the Ozobots, Cubelets, and the Osmo kit.

Evergreen Decorations 

(Ages five and up)

Join us and the Horticultural Society to create a festive craft! We will use pinecones, cedar boughs, thistles, and more. Please register.

At the Movies (All Ages)

Drop in for a showing of Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Bring a blanket and we’ll provide the popcorn. Running time 140 minutes; rated PG.

Gnome Tree Ornaments 

(Teens and Adults)

Join branch staff as we craft an adorable gnome ornament for your tree or to give as a gift. All supplies provided. Please register.
